Not all colors and painting jobs are the same. Depending on various factors including the type of paint, the painter, and the weather conditions, the results will be different. A main problem with the paint job on the exterior of a building is the gradual exterior color fading. Fading is the loss of color pigment in the paint. This can be due to a couple of reasons. The quality of the paint is the main reason for color retention and paint color fading. When the paint is of low quality, the upper layers of the paint quickly begin to peel off. The paint coating chalks off, and the color fades out. Another reason for color fading is excessive exposure to sunlight. The UV radiation is harsh to the pigmentation of the paint. Some colors like bright blue, yellow, and red are more vulnerable to paint color fading due to UV radiation. Over-tinting can also cause exterior color fading.

Step 1, Prep.

Clean off dust and dirt, and remove any loose paint film. Use Nippon Fungicidal Wash if fungus occurs and leave it on surface for 24 hours before painting.

Step 2, Prime.

For new walls, apply 1 coat of Nippon 8000 Advance Sealer or Nippon 5100 Wall Sealer. To repaint walls, apply 1 coat of Nippon Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer.

Step 3, Paint!

Apply 2-3 coats of any products from the Nippon Paint Weatherbond® range.
