Peeling a Common Surface Problems and its solution.
What is peeling?
Peeling is the process of formation of uneven or rough irregularities in the surface of a painted or coated surface. Commonly it happens when a binder fails to flow evenly all around the an object's surface.
Most commonly peeling is observed in metallic services however they can be seen on different types of surfaces too.
Another reason of peeling is expired old paint film or incorrect painting system.
Now, let's find out how we can prepare the surface and apply the solution to get rid of peeling.
Step 1: Surface Preparation
This is most important stage to fix your peeled surfaces.
- Remove all surface contaminants either by:
- brushing
- washing
- scrubbing or
- high pressure water jet.
- Allow the surface to dry completely before painting.
Step 2: Apply Sealer
It is specifically formulated for painting directly on difficult surfaces such as skimcoat interior walls and plaster ceilings to enhance intercoat bonding for the finishing topcoat.
